Braces are efficient, or they wouldn’t have remained our go-to option here at Smiles for Health in Carlsbad for so long. They’re still in use, but a lot of people prefer clear aligners. Braces can irritate the inside of your cheeks, and they don’t look aesthetic.

Invisalign® aligners are transparent and smooth, so they won’t cause discomfort. You might notice slight pressure the first few days after the new aligners, but that’s pretty much it. There’s a risk of wires breaking with braces, which could prompt an emergency visit to the dentist. That’s not the case with Invisalign® aligners as there are no wires involved. Even if your aligner breaks, it’s not an emergency because the whole thing is removable. You can just come in the next day.

Eating and Brushing your Teeth with Invisalign®️

It’s recommended that you take out your aligners when you eat or drink. You can then brush your teeth and put them back on. Sports and other activities you enjoy won’t be limited or affected by aligners either. Your life will be almost entirely unaffected.

There’s also the added benefit of being able to clean your aligners when you take them off. Rinse them with water and brush them softly when you take them off at the end of the day. You can forget all about bad breath if you do this each night.
