Dr. Andrea Otani Barrera aspires to radiate positivity wherever she goes! A true San Diego native, Dr. Barrera was raised in Carlsbad. Additionally, she became fascinated by dentistry from a young age and began her journey in high school, shadowing and assisting in dental offices across North County.
Moreover, she earned her bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego, graduating with a double major in Biology and Public Health and a minor in Sociocultural Anthropology. Furthermore, Dr. Barrera received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. In addition, she is an active member of the Academy of General Dentists, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society.
Dr. Barrera has a deep passion for dentistry and helping her community. As a result, she empowers her patients to take control of their oral health as a foundation for improving their overall well-being. Similarly, she believes that education and encouragement are essential components of care.
Outside of dentistry, she likes spending time with her husband and dog while enjoying the San Diego sunshine. Additionally, she loves playing soccer and traveling, activities that allow her to connect with people and cultures beyond the dental field.
